Model 1012 High Speed Reference Pulse Generator - 27 Picosecond Transition Duration logo

The Model 1012 High Speed Reference Pulse Generator was designed to provide pulses suitable to calibrate oscilloscopes with up to 12 GHz bandwidth. It exhibits both a short positive and negative transition duration (typical risetimes are 29 ps and typical falltimes are 27 ps). It has a low short term settling error of less than 1% in 10 nanoseconds. The output levels are approximately -600 mV and 0 V and the resulting 600 mV pulse amplitude exercises the inputs of sampling oscilloscopes by supplying a pulse that is up to 75 % of oscilloscope's input operating range. (Option 1: output levels of 0 V and +600 mV.)

The Pulse Head is attached to the mainframe by a 0.9 m (3 foot) long cable pair that allows the pulse head to be connected to oscilloscope input without any intervening cables that can slow the pulse transition. The output connector is a male 2.92 mm coaxial connector designed to mate with most high speed oscilloscope inputs without an adapter.
